Kuba was just a normal, happy nine-year-old boy. He went to school, played football with friends, laughed, and enjoyed the simple joys of childhood. But unbeknownst to him and his family, a tumor was silently growing in his brain, waiting for the moment it would make its presence known. The first signs were subtle — occasional headaches, slight vision disturbances — but soon they escalated. By the summer, Kuba began vomiting frequently, his eyes crossed involuntarily, and he experienced severe headaches. His balance wavered, and his vision was affected.
Initial consultations with an ophthalmologist, ENT specialist, and basic blood tests failed to identify the cause. Each day that passed allowed the tumor to grow larger, spreading fear and uncertainty throughout the family. Finally, they obtained a referral for a
CT scan, and after a tense four-hour wait in the hospital corridor, the devastating news arrived: Kuba had a tumor the size of a grapefruit. Within fifteen minutes, an ambulance would take him to the hospital for
life-saving surgery. The shock and fear were overwhelming — no parent is ever prepared to hear that their child’s life is in immediate danger.

On September 13th, Kuba underwent
an eight-hour brain surgery. The operation was complex and risky. The chief surgeon candidly informed the family that the tumor’s depth prevented complete removal. While the surgery was successful in saving his life, the potential for serious complications loomed. In those moments, Kuba’s parents held on to one thought above all else: survival.
“Just let my child survive, even if it means disability,” his mother whispered to herself, clinging to hope amidst the uncertainty.
Miraculously, Kuba emerged from surgery conscious and aware, though he now faces significant challenges. He suffers from
facial paralysis and moderate paralysis in other areas of his body, consequences that were anticipated given the tumor’s size and location. Despite these obstacles, his family considers it a miracle that he survived such a critical operation, and they remain hopeful for his continued recovery.

Currently, Kuba’s health status is still being fully assessed. The family anxiously awaits test results to determine whether the tumor was malignant and whether chemotherapy or further interventions will be required. The hope is that the surgery was sufficient and that no additional aggressive treatment will be necessary. Each day, though, is a delicate balance of recovery, therapy, and emotional support.
Kuba’s rehabilitation has already begun, but the path is difficult. He struggles with speech, sitting upright, eating independently, and even holding a phone. Despite these limitations, his resilience and good humor remain remarkable. His spirit inspires his family and gives them strength to continue supporting him through every challenge.

The family’s burden extends beyond medical care. Kuba has four siblings, all of whom need attention and love, even as his mother devotes herself to his recovery. The financial costs of ongoing therapy, specialist consultations, and equipment are mounting rapidly. Without outside support, the family fears they will be unable to provide the care he needs to regain as much independence and function as possible.
Kuba’s mother, Elizabeth, reaches out with a heartfelt plea: she asks for assistance in covering the costs of treatment and rehabilitation, to help her son recover fully and continue to enjoy life. Every contribution, every act of support, brings Kuba closer to regaining strength, independence, and the opportunity to return to the activities he loves.

Kuba’s story is one of courage, resilience, and hope. Despite the severity of his condition, he has not lost his sense of humor or his optimism. His fight is ongoing, but with the support of compassionate individuals, he has a chance to heal, recover, and experience the joys of childhood once again.
Please help Kuba. Your support can make a tangible difference in his recovery, allowing him to regain the ability to speak, move, and engage with the world. Together, we can help this brave little boy continue his journey toward health, happiness, and a life filled with play and laughter once more.
